Do you cite research studies in a paper analyzing them?

I am writing a paper for statistics, and the first two paragraphs are an analysis of the populations, data, and methods used in two different research studies. Am I supposed to cite the research studies? Most of the paragraphs are just direct explanation of them, so I would have to cite the whole paragraph. Or is it assumed that any information not cited otherwise would be taken from those studies?
